Autoclaved aerated concrete from Iran
Tell the calculator what the wall is for — it narrows the suitable density grades and works out the block count, volume and weight for your wall.

Dry weight is calculated from the density grade. Autoclaved aerated concrete is shipped with residual moisture, so the actual shipping weight is higher — a factor of 1.25 is applied here. The estimate excludes the thickness of adhesive joints and the reuse of offcuts, and it is not a masonry design.

The wall length is divided by the block length (0.60 m) and the height by the block height (0.25 m); both values are rounded up to a whole number. The block count is the number of blocks per row multiplied by the number of rows. Blocks at the edges are cut on site.
Blocks = roundup (length / 0.60) × roundup (height / 0.25)
Volume is the block count multiplied by the volume of one block. Dry weight is the volume multiplied by the density grade: a 600 × 250 × 200 mm block of grade D500 weighs 0.03 m³ × 500 kg/m³ = 15 kg.
If a window and door area is entered, a whole number of blocks fitting that area is subtracted: the opening area is divided by the face area of one block (0.15 m²) and rounded down.
The estimate excludes the thickness of adhesive or mortar joints, the reuse of offcuts, reinforcement, lintels and supplementary units. The 5% allowance is shown on a separate line as a guide for cutting and possible breakage in transit; the final allowance is set by the designer or site manager.
The layout diagram shows a running bond with each row offset by half a block. It illustrates quantity and is not a masonry design. An opening is drawn as a single rectangle of equal area.
Shipping weight is taken as 25% above dry weight: autoclaved aerated concrete leaves the plant with residual moisture that dries out once the wall is built. The exact moisture content at dispatch depends on the batch.
Reference properties of autoclaved cellular concrete. Strength classes and frost resistance are governed by GOST 31359-2007 and GOST 31360-2007; the values for a given batch are stated in its certificate.

The compressive strength class of D400 is B2.0–B2.5, lower than that of D500 and D600. The calculator therefore offers D500 and D600 for a load-bearing wall. The grade for a particular house is determined by a load calculation carried out by the designer.
The lower the density, the lower the thermal conductivity: D400 is 0.096–0.117 W/(m·°C) and D600 is 0.141–0.183. At the same thickness a D400 wall loses less heat, but it is also less strong.
ООО «УПДЦ» (UPBC) works with autoclaved aerated concrete blocks of Iranian manufacture in sizes 600 × 250 × 300 mm and 600 × 250 × 200 mm, in density grades D400, D500 and D600.
The density grade refers to the dry state of the material. After autoclaving, moisture remains in the blocks and dries out once the wall is built, so the actual weight in transit is higher. The calculator applies a factor of 1.25.
Divide the structure into rectangular sections, calculate each one separately and add the results. The total area of windows and doors can be entered in the «Window and door area» field.
