Where the demand comes from

According to the company, the project responds to growing demand for materials for local construction in the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions and in Dagestan. AAC is a common wall material used in residential and commercial buildings, for external walls and partitions. Demand for it depends on construction volumes, prices and delivery costs.

Density grades and sizes

Grades D400, D500 and D600 denote the average dry density of the block, roughly 400, 500 and 600 kg/m³ (the way GOST 31359-2007 defines grades). The lower the density, the better the thermal insulation and the lower the compressive strength, so the grade is chosen by the designer based on load, climate zone and wall design.

The blocks are 600 mm long and 250 mm high. A thickness of 300 mm is usually considered for external walls and 200 mm for internal walls and partitions. These two formats are currently in the production programme of the factories the company works with.

Packaging

Blocks are stacked on pallets and wrapped in shrink film. This protects the product from moisture and dust and holds the stack together during transport and loading. The film carries the name and contacts, the product type, the density grade and the size (D400, 60 × 25 × 20 in the photo). The markings are in Russian and English.

What the company describes as advantages

  • Price. In the company’s assessment it is lower than for comparable Russian blocks. The actual price depends on the grade, volume, exchange rate, logistics and delivery terms and is provided on request.
  • Quality. According to the manufacturers, the products are made to European standards. A buyer should request test reports, a quality passport and conformity documents for the specific batch.
  • Packaging. Neat branded packaging makes the product clear and attractive to end customers.

These are the company’s assessments, not the results of independent testing.

How sales are organised

UPBC has signed agreements with two Iranian AAC factories and, according to the company, is their exclusive representative for selling and importing the blocks in Russia. In the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions and in Dagestan the work is carried out through local sales representatives. The factories are not named on this page.

Importing from Iran to Russia: what to consider

  • Classification. Building blocks of cellular concrete are usually classified under subheading 6810 11 of the EAEU Commodity Nomenclature; the final code depends on the description and characteristics of the goods.
  • Conformity. Autoclaved cellular concrete and wall products made of it are described in GOST 31359-2007 and GOST 31360-2007. The form of conformity confirmation (certificate or declaration) should be checked against current rules with a certification body.
  • Duties. Since 15 May 2025 a free trade agreement between Iran and the EAEU has been in force. Whether a preferential rate applies to these blocks depends on the commodity code and rules of origin.
  • Logistics and payments. Routes (Caspian Sea, rail) and settlement currencies are covered in the overview of Russia–Iran trade.
